The HAECO Invitational, founded in 1976 by seven Greensboro Sports Council members, brings together high school basketball teams from in and around Guilford County for a holiday tournament with a purpose. The tournament began as the Little 4, featuring Dudley, Grimsley, Page, and Smith high schools, and has since expanded to include more teams and a women's division. Proceeds from the event support local athletic programs, award scholarships, and benefit various charities chosen annually. The HAECO Invitational continues to celebrate high school sports while giving back to the community, maintaining its original mission of supporting local schools.
