Ahead of their third annual PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series homestand Sept. 20-22 in Greensboro, North Carolina, the Carolina Cowboys, the region’s only professional bull riding team, today announced a free-to-attend, family-friendly festival that will accompany the event outside Greensboro Coliseum.

The fun-for-all-ages festival will be headlined by the Carolina Cowboys’ inaugural charity Rev & Ride Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The Cowboys, currently ranked No. 1 in the PBR Teams league with a record of 12-2-1, have a close connection to the automotive industry. The team is under the leadership of General Manager Austin Dillon, the 2018 Daytona 500 Champion, and owned by NASCAR Hall of Fame legend Richard Childress and Jeff Broin.  Festivalgoers will have the chance to meet the Carolina Cowboys daily at their merchandise trailer, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 and 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22. The team’s coaching staff will also hold two Q&A sessions for fans on Sept. 20 at 5:45 pm. And Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. on the main festival stage.

The Cowboy Days Festival will take over the area surrounding Greensboro Coliseum, opening at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 and 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Cowboy Days will feature a daily theme, rallying those in attendance at the festival ahead of the day’s bull riding games inside Greensboro Coliseum during the ninth event of the 12-event PBR Camping World Team Series regular season. Each day, fans will be able to get their Carolina Cowboys glow stick bracelet to show their team pride inside the Greensboro Coliseum. Those bracelets will be available by $3 charitable donation in the Cowboy Days Festival and upon entry to Greensboro Coliseum for each Cowboy Days performance.

  • On Friday, Sept. 20 all in attendance will be encouraged to dress like a cowboy/cowgirl. Proceeds raised from the bracelet sales will benefit the Western Sports Foundation, an organization devoted to supporting total wellness for Western sports athletes by providing resources for life.
  • The second day of festivities on Saturday, Sept. 21 will celebrate Military Appreciation Night while Carolina Cowboys will host a White out, encouraging all those attending to wear white. All proceeds from bracelet sales that day will benefit Beyond The Brotherhood, a nonprofit devoted to supporting the Navy SEAL community.
  • When the Cowboy Days Festival concludes on Sunday, Sept. 22, the Carolina Cowboys will channel the theme, Tough Enough to Wear Pink, as they bring attention to breast cancer awareness.

Each day’s in-arena festivities will also feature a racing flare. Amid the breaks between the bull riding games, 10 Triad-area kids, ages 5-10, who compete at both local and regional motocross races, will race inside Greensboro Coliseum, each representing one of the PBR league’s 10 teams.

The Carolina Cowboys’ Rev & Ride Car Show will feature exhibitors in five categories – Classic, Modified, Street Rods, Exotics and Trucks – competing in two categories – People’s Choice and Most Unique – judged by both a panel of celebrity judges and the festivalgoers. The celebrity judging panel currently includes: custom fabricator and star of Motor Trend’s show Iron Resurrection Mike Zabonik, Vice President of Alliance Operations and Director of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Program for Richard Childress Racing Danny Lawrence, and President of Martinsville Speedway Clay Campbell.

The winner of the Most Unique will be decided by the celebrity judging panel, while the People’s Choice category will be determined by donations made by those in attendance, each receiving a custom piston trophy. The donations will directly benefit a breast cancer patient in the Western community. Winners in each category will be announced on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.

The Rev & Ride Car Show winners will then return to the Cowboy Days Festival on Sunday, Sept. 22.

The Cowboy Days Festival musical lineup will be headlined by LIVE performances from Andy Velo on Sept. 21-22. Velo will perform at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sept. 21, and 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Raised in North Georgia, Velo knew at just 11 years old that he wanted to spend his life in country music. Making the move to Nashville 12 years ago and building his fan base opening for some of today’s biggest names in country music has laid the foundation for Velo to bring his high-energy show across the country and abroad. Velo has released several albums, tallying up more than 20 million streams, including his latest double studio album, “Way Out,” that includes the singles, “Dying Breed," “Boxed Wine,” “Bombs Away,” and also "Half-Truths & Other Lies," which spent multiple weeks at #1 of CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown. Velo will perform live in 2024 across the U.S. as he releases the second half of his highly anticipated double album throughout the year.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, the Carolina Cowboys’ Festival programming will be headlined by Cowboy Church beginning at 11:30 a.m. in partnership with WSJS and Truth Radio. Following words from the team’s Head Coach Jerome Davis and the team’s Assistant General Manager Tiffany Davis, and the Christian Car Guy, Truth Network’s Robby Dilmore, the service will be delivered by Pastor Joe Nelms.

Daily at the Cowboy Days Festival, the team’s official spirit squad – the Carolina Cowgirls –will be on hand, while fans will be able to enjoy food and music, and purchase merchandise from both the PBR Teams league and Carolina Cowboys. Eventgoers will also be able to interact with a host of other exhibitors including Davis Rodeo Ranch, Richard Childress Racing, Monster Energy, West Central Region FFA, Dainty Little Things Permanent Jewelry, Downtown Greensboro, WIX Filters, Brimmed Hat Bar and more. Local food trucks will also be present to accompany a for-purchase bar.

Festivalgoers will also be able to get up-close with several special cars, with the No. 3 Carolina Cowboys Chevrolet, Bowman Grey Stadium racer T Dawson’s Carolina Cowboys Modified and Martinsville Speedway pace car scheduled to be on display for the entire Cowboy Days Festival.

Additional entertainment will include a game zone, and the face painting stylings of the Painted Panda Face Painter.
